When You Count Them!

#Giving Tuesday has become and a huge marketing tool and fundraising campaign for charities. It was interesting to learn the story behind it.

Where did GivingTuesday come from?

Giving Tuesday began as an idea in 2011, the brainchild of the non-profit Mary-Arrchie Theater Company in Chicago and then-producing director Carlo Lorenzo Garcia, who urged shoppers via The Huffington Post to take a different approach; to consider donating to charity after they had finished their Cyber Monday shopping …

But God asks us to give long before the internet…. In fact His promise is as we give, we shall also receive….

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.”

Giving to others was modeled for me by my parents, and others in the small town of Sanford, Florida where I grew up.

My parents began Baggs Drive Up Fruit and Produce in 1955. Young mothers would bring their babies to be weighed on the produce scales and the elderly would wait in their cars while my mom gathered their groceries and brought it to them. They were the “big box” store back then in Sanford, Florida. Sanford families were well acquainted with helping the bruised, broken, poor and disenfranchised.

My parents would give their trimmings and perishing produce to a local pig farmer and helped give second chances to a lot of people. When one of their employees contracted spinal meningitis they put up a donation bucket and collected funds for her hospital bills. Charity was loving others every day.

During this past year Cinderella Released Ministries has been able to supply food, tuition assistance, physical therapy, medical care, evangelism outreach materials along with our individual crisis, trauma, grief and prayer counseling on our new Gloo platform. I have been sent nearly a hundred prayer requests and opportunities to share with many lost and discouraged individuals. We have been able to sow into many individuals  spiritually, financially and emotionally.

It seems like every day needs are increasing, but there has not been one of those days where we have not seen God at work in these events or life altering situations. The love of Jesus pours down over us.

The RelateWell (Christ Centered The Power of Us), Overcoming Problems, Hurts, Hang-Ups and Habits the Biblical Way pastoral care classes taught in Leon County Detention Center this year were awesome.

We will continue to support our existing African missions, ministries and we will be supporting additional soul, emotional and physical health needs for the needy beginning in 2024.

I feel called to increase time in personal prayer, teaching, intercession and coaching others multiple ways as the Lord leads. There are so many in need of Jesus’ loving touch.

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. James 1:2-4

CRM continues to pray for a home base and reach the goals set for our existing budget by trusting the Lord and His provision.

No matter what day: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or any day, if you love and serve Jesus we are forever KINGDOM PARTNERS!
