Semi-Safe

SEMI-SAFE!

I was traveling along a winding country rode and came across a semi-truck that had missed a curve and run head on into a farmer’s field.  The wheels of the cab of the truck was buried in soft sand and he was stuck. I stopped and asked the driver who was sitting on the back of the container if he was ok?  He said, yes. He had a cooler with water and some snacks. We were in the middle of nowhere, but he did have a cell phone and told me a wrecker was on the way. I felt like he was Semi-Safe!

We can all get going too fast sometimes especially when we are carrying a heavy load. We feel certain we can make the curve, but the load continues in the direction it is going if we don’t slow down enough for some of the unanticipated curves. Keeping watch for the signs and listening to God’s voice is so important!

This brings me to the message from the Lord I’ve written out in the blog below: Please feel free to share your comments about what the Lord is speaking to you in this hour and to share my blog or newsletter with others who are feeling hopeless or discouraged.

I AM, THE STRAIGHT (MOST HIGH) WAY, &
I AM COMING!

(Prophetic Word from the Lord)

A voice of one calling: “In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Isaiah 40:3

You can’t stop lava from Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano with water, bombs or walls. Here’s why. Read Entire Article

You can't stop lava flow.jpg

There is a lava flow in Hawaii that isn’t stopping. The wind blew an avalanche of rocks into the road today. The Lord said, “The earth is crying out in travail, it is praising a God that can’t be stopped.

God created mankind to praise and worship him. Let your soul and spirit cry out in travail, cry out in praise and overcome the darkness wherever you go – wherever your feet may tread.

Psalm 33

Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him.
Praise the Lord with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.

Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.

For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.

The Lord loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love.

By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth. He gathers the waters of the sea into jars; he puts the deep into storehouses.

Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the people of the world revere him
For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.

The Lord foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples.

But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever,
the purposes of his heart through all generations.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance.

From heaven the Lord looks down and sees all mankind;
from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth—
he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do.

No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength
A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save.
But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him,
on those whose hope is in his unfailing love, to deliver them from death
and keep them alive in famine.

We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield.

In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name.

May your unfailing love be with us, Lord, even as we put our hope in you.

Road Rocks

God sent His Son, the Holy One of Israel, Yeshua (Jesus) to redeem mankind from their sins and from the evil one. He will deliver those who will follow Him from the darkness and into His marvelous light!

The Lord God says,

“You who are His voice, You who are His people, You who are His followers and disciples, go now into all the earth and declare His salvation, deliverance and healing to those who are lost and broken and it is I who will deliver them!

Don’t let a rock, a mountain, a volcano, a wind, or an earthquake cry out for you!”

Solid Rock Road Sign

The Lord is my solid rock,
    my fortress, my rescuer.
My God is my rock—
I take refuge in him!—
        he’s my shield,
        my salvation’s strength,
        my place of safety.

Psalm 18:2

OCCUPY UNTIL I COME! (Luke 19:13)

And as He told the disciples where to get a Colt for him to ride on those who were following him began to cry out in praise.

Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.

And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.

And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.

And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,

Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.
Luke 19:38-42

“We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.” Romans 8:22

As we praise, worship and intercede for the nations the Lord is faithful to inhabit the praises of His people.

We know as trouble and difficulties arise, this is a call for God’s people to stand firm and Occupy until He comes again.

Lord, Where do we go from here?

hurricaneirma

As thousands flee in Florida, and thousands more are devastated in Texas, the carribbean and Mexico (as a result of the recent earthquake); I am certain many are praying and asking the question, “Lord, where do we go from here.”

Jesus had just performed two great miracles, the Feeding of the Five Thousand and Walking on the Water (John 6:15)

Jesus then gave a word to the people chastising them about why they were seeking after him.   26Jesus answered them and said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled. 27“Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you, for on Him the Father, God, has set His seal.”

Still, the people wondered about what they had to “do” in order to work and serve Him in order to get what they wanted. His words were very clear on what to “do” and the condition our hearts should be in when we are asking the big question, Where do we go from here?

Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.” John 6:29

When we find ourselves in the midst of the storms of life, our only hope and “work” is to do His will. What is His will?

To believe and trust in the one He sent – Jesus, our Lord.

One moment we are living, working, laughing and enjoying the fruit of our labor here on earth, and then in an instant our lives are changed, many times leaving us in a state of emergency, crisis and trauma.  It could be a hurricane, a sickness or disease, or it could be something as seemingly simple as an empty nest leaving us grieving and asking,

“Lord, What is my purpose? What do I do? How will I survive?
Where do I go from here?”

God knows our name, our shame, our sitation and has already established us and prepared a place for us right along side of Him.

looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews, 12:2

Lord, where do I go from here? Seek Him, and you will never find yourself lost and without hope. He is the only place we can go and remain steadfast and unshakeable.

Summer is here… in Alaska

Summer is here…
The past few weeks have been very exciting as the snow in the Matanatsu Valley has melted and you see campers, four wheelers and the landscape change from white to green!
Or not quite yet…
This week a fresh blanket of snow has draped the mountains like a polar bear coat. It hasn’t stopped the hikers, bikers and campers flooding into the state.
Crisis & Trauma Care
I’ve been blessed the past few months to meet with many groups and individuals who share my passion for crisis and trauma care. There are so many warriors God is using to shine His marvelous light through to overcome the darkness that cause Alaskans so much trauma.
Heroin Overdoses
During the month of May, there has been a dramatic increase in heroin overdoses in Anchorage. Emergency personnel are arriving on the deadly scenes but have also saved many lives using a drug called Narcan. Please pray for hope, restoration and recovery for those who have overdosed and those who have lost family members and friends to overdoses.

Like a Signal in the Sky….The Power of the Cross Never Dies!

Power of the cross

I’m looking back a few years ago, when I took this picture.  I had spent a year in Ohio working at a large ministry and the experience and friendships that I made while I was there are not measurable.  There was probably not anything in Ohio that I didn’t love!  I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life there and build a retreat where all of my friends could come.  I already had my eye on a beautiful old farmhouse!

I had made many forever friends and were building more each day.  I loved Ohio’s central location, the ability to travel practically anywhere in the U.S. quickly and  had set up a very cute and cozy apartment in New Albany.  Getting ready for my first fall and then winter set in as quickly as the next change did.

A man’s heart plans his way,
But the Lord directs his steps.” Proverbs 16:9

Change is always difficult and who can know when you are in a changing season how to plan.  For a while after I left Ohio my heart was not open for planning.  It seemed like every time I got my hopes up again for a home, a place to put roots down the season would change and I would be picked up like an autumn leaf and carried away on another adventure.  Thus is the feeling in my spirit.  Who can fight God?  Acts 5:39 says,

But if it is from God, you will not be able to overthrow them.
You may even find yourselves fighting against God!”

You see I didn’t know at the time that my youngest would be soon be getting married. But, I knew he was going to need me there.  The excitement of living near all of my sons again was exhilarating!  Yes, I can do this!  I’m not too old.  A position and plan opened up and yes, there it was God WAS once more directing my steps.  There was also someone very special in Pensacola, that I would learn much from and whom needed and wanted me!  So many things have happened since that drive after that cross appeared in the sky signaling the change that was coming.

[the mockers to Jesus at the Crucifixion:] “…Save yourself! Come down from the cross, if you are the Son of God!”

“He saved others,” they said, “but he can’t save himself! He’s the King of Israel! Let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him.”Mat 27:40, 42 (NIV)

This must have been what the disciples thought when they saw Jesus up on that cross.  I would have thought it.  How many times had the disciples seen Jesus do miracles in their lives, and yet, even Peter had just denied him.  Even after he had promised he would never do it.

John stood by with Jesus’ mother Mary and the other women.  The grief the sadness, the sorrow, the change.  This was what was in my soul that drive from Ohio until I looked up and saw the cross.  It was like a signal in the Sky that everything was going to be ok.  It didn’t matter how old I was, or what the future held, good or bad.  I had hope that only the cross and the blood of Jesus can bring.

This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls.
It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary. Hebrews 6:19

Hope then that I would be working for Globe Hope.  Change for me is really never easy, but it is exciting. Once I get over the hump.  Like a leaf, picked up by the wind in the fall…

Anchor – Hillsong Live

I have this hope
As an anchor for my soul
Through every storm
I will hold to YouWith endless love
All my fear is swept away
In everything
I will trust in YouCHORUS
There is hope in the promise of the cross
You gave everything to save the world You love
And this hope is an anchor for my soul
Our God will stand
UnshakeableVERSE
Unchanging One
You who was and is to come
Your promise sure
You will not let goBRIDGE
Your Name is higher
Your Name is greater
All my hope is in YouYour word unfailing
Your promise unshaken
All my hope is in You

 Hope.jpg

After leaving Globe Hope and following the Lord’s leading, I’ve been able to see how blessed I am and how much more the Lord wants me to put my HOPE and TRUST in HIM! Above is just one of God’s Treasures. She lives on the streets in Los Angeles along with thousands of other homeless.

And a scribe came up and said to him, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.” 20 And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.” Matthew 8:19-20
