Ain’t No Rock Gonna Cry Out for Me!

Over 30 years ago, on Palm Sunday, I was standing in praise and worship and the person standing beside me was getting very uncomfortable. At one point he raised their hands (something he never would have done in church). At one point, I almost thought he was making fun of the people who were raising their hands and singing out loudly. Because of his increased edginess he was unable to sit down or stand still. I had seen this edginess before, and usually he would just go out of the service. But this time, just before the close of the last song, he hurriedly pushed me aside and told me to let him out. I thought he was getting ill or leaving. Instead of heading for the back door, he walked fast nearly running to the front of the church. He grabbed one of the men in the front row and asked for prayer.

Life is unfolding before you....there are divine appointments you don't want to miss.

I was reading in 2 Corinthians 12:8-10 this morning, “Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
