Globe Hope recently had it’s third annual 5K RUN4HOPE at the Pensacola Fairgrounds. Over 200 runners and 50 volunteers came out for the event. The earthquake of April 25 rated 7.8. The next day a 6.7 quake struck, and then on May 12th, a third hit at 7.3. Over 270 aftershocks followed. Eight million people have been affected with nearly 9000 deaths and 23,000 injured. Landslides continue to ravish the nation, killing scores. Mount Everest moved 1.2 inches! Kathmandu moved 10 Feet! CinderellaReleased…from ashes to beauty…
Dear Friends and Family,
July is finally here and I’m excited to be heading to Challenge Farm in Kitale, Kenya Africa!
Challenge Farm is part of Globe Hope, the humanitarian arm of Globe International, Inc. where I work.
When I got saved at the age of 12, I felt God calling me to Africa. I could see myself in a vision giving a cup of water to little children. Challenge Farm was founded in 1992 and is home to 188 street children. Many lives have been changed over the years at Challenge Farm and I am so excited to be able to go there! For more information please visit their website at Challenge Farm.org.
Below is a story that happened just last year. Above is a picture of some of these precious children. “On April 9, 2014 in Kitale, Kenya 87 street kids were awakened from their sleep and placed in jail. Challenge Farm by faith took in 30 new children.”As the children were brought to Challenge Farm one of the boys asked, “Is there food at Challenge Farm?” – “Yes, 3 meals a day” – “and football every day!” – “and showers! ” Jesse and Elissa Pontius
The cost of the 21-day trip is about $3,000. This price includes airfare, meals, lodging, and ground transportation and some supplies for the Challenge Farm. Please pray for our team & me as we prepare to go on this mission trip. Apart from financial support, there are several ways you could help:
At the present time I have approximately ¼ of my funds raised. I would like to ask that you would consider supporting me financially. (I recommend a gift of $50, $100 or $150, but you can always give more!), but more important please pray for me and our team. A few facts about where I am going:
- In Sub-Saharan Africa (the part of the continent south of the Sahara Desert), more than 300 million people – nearly half the population – live on less than $1 a day.
- Every day 6,600 people die from AIDS.
- More than 12 million African children have already lost one or both parents to AIDS, with the number of AIDS orphans expected to increase to more than 18 million by 2010.
- In Kenya, the median age is only 18, and about half the population is 15 or younger
The 30 children that were taken in from being “netted” on the street were all 12 and younger. The minimum cost to feed, clothe, provide medical, dental, shelter and education is approximately $200+ per month. Imagine your monthly household expenses increasing $6,000 per month in one day!

Saving Lives. Serving Needs. Empowering People.
Globe Hope is the humanitarian arm of Globe International. Since it’s founding in 1973 some of Globe International’s missionary personnel have constantly served in regions of the world that are marked by poverty, scarred by disaster, and ravaged by war.
In Africa, Asis, Eastern Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, Globe has helped relieve suffering, feed the hungry, rescue children, and find empowering solutions to disenfranchised people.
Globe Hope’s slogan guides the activities of Globe people. We do not only want to save lives and serve needs, we want to help empower people to care for their own communities, raise their own children, build their own profitable businesses, and strengthen their own nations.
Globe Hope’s ultimate goal is to no longer be needed! Until then, Globe will continue to send missionaries to serve people and lend a helping hand in the name of, and in obedience to the commands of Jesus Christ.
