Woman in the Mirror

Woman in the Mirror

Image

“Who do you believe you are?”

She was asked this question recently and the answers varied from last week.

“I’m a mother, grandmother who is alone, sad, tired, fat, homeless and disillusioned.”

“Why do you believe that?”

“Why? Because that is what I think others see. Therefore, I believe that is who I am.”

“Why do you allow what you “think” others “assume or see” to be the truth?”

“Because that is what we do isn’t it? We believe what we assume to be true.?”

“Does this make it true?”

“I don’t know, I guess it is what you choose to believe.”

“Who does God say you are? He is the one that brought you here.”

“Sometimes I don’t hear God.”

“Why is that?”

“Because I don’t listen to Him. I don’t make time for Him.  I would rather choose to listen to what I think others think.”

“Isn’t that destructive?”

“Of course it is destructive. And that is what makes me think I am alone, tired, worn, homeless and disillusioned. It is absolutely stupid to look into the mirror and talk to myself like this!”

You should be saying what your Abba Father says about you.

He calls you, “His Cinderella Released, His Mighty Girl, His Woman on a Mission!”

You are full of His grace, glory and gumption!

He says, “You are  totally healed, delivered, set free and are able to do exceedingly, abundantly above anything you could ever hope for or imagine.”

He also says, “His plans for you are for good and not for evil and that He has a seat for you in heavenly places with Him.”

He is preparing a place for you to come for eternity and He has never ever lied to you or told you anything that has not occurred or come to pass.  He says, “You are beautiful and whatever and whoever you are is good enough for Him and that He will never ever leave or forsake you.”

He also says,

“Darling daughter please just come spend time with me.  Don’t talk down about yourself or others.  Don’t waste time, that is going to just take you down and destroy you.  It is time to arise and be about my business.  You just need to love others.  Forget about what they do.”

Others are doing what you do; spending too much time in the mirror.  You will never see yourself as God sees you.

He is sitting right there beside you and will listen to you whenever you want Him to listen.  Jesus is always praying for you.

He hears your prayers when you pray in faith, believing in what you do not see!  Stop looking in the mirror and look for Him. He is here, right beside you.  He’s not in the mirror… He’s at your side looking at you.

He says, Turn to Me, look at Me my darling daughter, look at Me, look to Me, rest in Me My darling daughter rest.  I am here and will carry you, get dressed!

Don’t be the Woman in the Mirror… Be the Woman You Were Created to Be By Me!

Yes, I think I will… get dressed!

Miracles, Healings – Dinner with Sarah

Testimony Time! Meet my dinner date Geo. He asked me, “Could you put me on your social media?” You bet I will!!😀

When I first moved to my apartment complex mid February Geo saw me sitting in the lobby and noticed my smile and the cross on my shirt (he tells me every time.)😊 He came over and asked me to pray for him. He had a deep infection in his knee. He had both legs over a year ago amputated due to sickness and had only 1 prosthetic leg. In order to get the other prosthetic leg his knee had to heal from the infection. That he had for months. Jesus and I prayed for him and we became buddies. I would bring him breakfast, we talked for hours in the lobby, he would ask me about my relationship with Jesus, I would make him dinner and then about 6 weeks ago I heard he was back in the hospital pretty much on his death bed again.

I said, “NO!”  We prayed for him. He got out of the hospital and came back home and was all better and the infection left his body!

He received his 2’nd prosthetic leg and he showed me this evening how he could get up walk a few steps and back in his wheel chair. 😀 He said let me show off what I can do now, he said it’s not pretty but I can walk. I looked at him with tears and said your right it’s not pretty it’s beautiful! 😍 I told Him I grilled steak for the first time ever and said I had way to much and asked him if he wanted to join me for dinner. He was delighted and as we were sitting outside others joined.

All I can say is,

I am so thankful God answers my prayers, “Lord send the broken and hurting ones so we can love on them and they can encounter you.”

More Miracles …

A door opened for my testimony to come out and people were like,

Wait, “What you partied, dated the wrong guys you did all that?” Saying it as they were in shock!

I said, “Yes I did, but the beautiful thing is when you surrender your life to Jesus He takes it and turns ashes into beauty.”

Next thing Jesus and I are prophesying and praying for the ones that came to the table. I’m not sharing details because I want to be respectful to my new friends. Tears were steaming and Oh! the freedom and chains that were broken off of people this evening. As I looked at my phone it’s almost 11pm. We started dinner at 7pm. The crazy thing is I had plans to deep clean my apartment this evening but when we allow God to lead the way then deep cleaning will come another day this week because Jesus wanted to deep clean the hearts of those that needed a taste of His love.

I am beyond thankful for this community of people here. 🎼We Are Family🎼🙂Also, I’m asking for you guys to be in agreement for a miracle for a friends mom that fell off a cliff.  Sarah Deeds, Associate/Youth Pastor Zion Christian Fellowship

About Sarah Deeds

The first time I met Sarah was when I was the Pastor and Director of Communications for Faith Life Now in New Albany, Ohio. Sarah was raising money to fund her trip and school at Heidi Baker’s ministry Iris Global in Mozambique S. Africa. Little did I know how special this Batzion (daughter of Zion) would become to me. Literally the Lord laid her on my heart to pray, support and keep her in my heart especially while she was away.

Since Sarah returned and I moved from Ohio, so much has happened in the natural but our spirits are still connected as one in the Lord. She is now an associate and youth pastor in Ohio and has so many other wonderful and miracle testimonies. She is not afraid to pray and tell anyone and everyone the source of her joy, strength and salvation. Please keep Sarah in your prayers now that you have met her. Also, please keep the ministries of Iris Global, Beacon of Hope, Project Purpose and fellow believers as well as the people of Mozambique. Much is happening to try to destroy God’s workers and his work. Read More Here

Pray, Plant, Feed & Water, Prune & Harvest

Palm Tree.jpg

Let your [a]character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] [b]Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor [c]give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [d][I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor [e]let [you] down ([f]relax My hold on you)! [[g]Assuredly not!] Hebrews 13:5 AMPC

I’m sitting here this morning asking the Lord, What is next, Lord? Of course my flesh thinks about all of the seemingly missed opportunities, hopes, & dreams, and then the Lord reminds me of all the flowers, shrubs, trees, jewels and treasures I’ve been privy to. The blessings of His goodness, mercy & bounty are immeasurable.

My mind continues to wander from the thoughts and hopes I had as a little girl sitting in the naval orange tree in my back yard and the conversations between me and God. At the time I didn’t know about Jesus, Holy Spirit and the person of Abba as Father. I think I saw Him through the eyes of the movie I saw about a Catholic Nun.

In this story I remember thinking in the life is a fairy tale version, “she is so beautiful” but she is married to God. She has given up having a husband, children, a house with a white picket fence. How is that possible to love God so much and to give all of that up for Him? You can’t even see God. But, I knew He was the Creator and that you could see what He created, the birds, the bugs, the squirrels, the trees, and the oranges. I was always fascinated by the naval orange. It had a belly button just like me.

navel orange
The Navel Orange originated from a single tree that was planted in Brazil in 1820. This tree had a mutation, causing two oranges to be produced within one single piece of fruit. The second orange, developing at the bottom of the fruit, opposite the stem, is where the Navel Orange gets its name, as that second orange vaguely resembles a human navel. The secondary orange is of vast importance, because it causes the orange to be seedless.

My brother Doug taught me to peel off the thick outside with my thumbs to get to the big sections on the inside and pop the entire piece in my mouth to avoid the juice running down my mouth. Sometimes this wasn’t possible with the size of the navel on our tree and in spite of getting this distinct chafing from the citrus on my chin, I continued to devour these delicacies.

Navels were seedless so you couldn’t collect the seeds like from other oranges in our yard. Doug also taught me to collect those seeds in the side of my mouth as I was eating until I got to the last section and then I could fire them from my mouth like a machine gun! Rat a tat tat tat tat tat tat….

I knew all about seeds. I knew that some seeds had to be planted at certain depths in order to grow and that you had to water and add fertilizer around the root of the plant or the tree. I would help my dad in our orange grove get fertilizer in the galvanized bucket and use my hand to spread the fertilizer around the base of each tree. Then I would take the water hose and water it.

Navel oranges had to be propogated (a big word I didn’t know then) from the tree themselves and so you couldn’t plant the seeds in the ground like you could watermelons, greens, tomatoes and other fruits and plants.

When I asked God about this He said, “Pray, Plant, Feed & Water, Prune and Harvest.”  I could understand the plant, feed, water, prune and harvest, but “PRAY.” God was teaching me as a little girl about prayer and how important it is to put this first, especially if I was going to fulfill the destiny and dreams that He had for me. He created the earth for them to enjoy…

Human Beings
As a child God taught me before ever reading the Bible, going to church, or having someone witness to me that He is our Creator and I am His Creation. Each person comes into this world and is given a choice to believe this is true or not. This is called faith. I can either accept this truth or spend my life disputing it. But, one of the first things I have to do is trust that God is real and that He doesn’t lie. I have to partake of this fruit in order to enjoy it. God created the orange, and then He gave man the ability to actually improve on our ability to enjoy it without seeds. But you could ask my daddy sometimes it is a lot easier to propagate and trust what man does, than to have faith in God that a planted seed is going to come forth in it’s due season. Some seeds lay dorment for years.

--orange-grove-old-florida

Another scene in the nun movie I watched was the nun took a vow of silence for a year. This was so she could pray, talk and listen to God. I found this even more of a challenge for me since I was the child whose “tongue was loose on both ends,” as my daddy would say.

I believe this was when in my heart of hearts I knew God was wooing me to Him in a close and personal way. In my child’s mind I took it as an invitation to always be able to come to Him to pray, talk, listen and be willing to obey. I took it as a vow between us that He would always be there for me. The Creator of the Universe wanted a relationship with this little farm gal from Sanford, Florida. Little did I know how important this choice would be for me, my children and their children to come! God never asks us to give up anything that isn’t for our own good.

Face of God

When I was in Asia recently and looking into the faces of my two grandson’s Jonah and Hudson, I encountered total unconditional love and unspeakable joy. I observed how they cling to their mother when they are tired and hungry, but aren’t afraid to explore and be themselves in the presence of their mom and dad. When they are alone with their daddy and they run, jump, and get a little more daring in their exploration and play adventures.

They haven’t learned about the dangers and pitfalls that are outside their walls of protection. Whenever they do experience bumps, bruises or sickness, they know their mom and dad will be quick to gather them and soothe their hurts.

As one who knows the loving face of God, my desire and prayer for them is that they will grow up and experience the joy of salvation, healing and unconditional love of God.

Amy Jonah Hudson Windo

Before I spoke a word, You were singing over me
You have been so, so good to me
Before I took a breath, You breathed Your life in me
You have been so, so kind to me
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God
Oh, it chases me down, fights ’til I’m found, leaves the ninety-nine
I couldn’t earn it, and I don’t deserve it, still, You give Yourself away
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God, yeahRead full Lyrics Reckless Love by Cory AsburyRead full Lyrics Reckless Love by Cory Asbury

Recently Pastor Dennis, of Northgate Alaska church was teaching on the Face of God and told a story about his granddaughter Heidi, He said, “One of Heidi’s first words was Agoo.” Even though no one exactly knew what this word meant, her joy and laughter was very endearing. She recognized that she was able to totally engage and capture the hearts of her loved ones during these face to face encounters, especially with her grandfather.

Every person is born with a “joy center” in their brain. These types of exchanges between each of us launches waves of joy and excitement and creates unforgettable memories. Face to face encounters provides a sense of love, safety and security that all children need, especially in the formative years. Both science and God’s Word tells us how important it is to stimulate and train the “joy centers” of our brains which can only come through face-to-face encounters.

During these face-to-face times of communication Jonah, Hudson, and Heidi knows they are the objects of complete panim and shalom.

Brain’s Control Center Overview – LifeModel.org

The Matsu Valley in Alaska has been recorded as the worst place to grow up in Alaska, and perhaps the State of Alaska has one if not the highest rank as being one of the worst places in the United States to bring up a child.

Northgate Burn

Northgate Alaska is one of the churches in the Mat-Su Valley who has declared war on this statistic and  has made it part of their local and global mission to create a community that is actively constructing a face to face pathway to train up and raise their children to experience a face to face relationship with the living God. They have been meeting for 18 years for a time of worship, praise, prayer and intercession for their community, state, nation and world. The group called Northgate Burn meets face to face with God each week.

Peniel, panim, is Hebrew for face or faces of God.

Scripture tells us God and Adam and Eve would meet face to face. Adam and Eve had been walking in the garden God created for them to live and meet until one day Satan disguised as a serpent came and tempted them. Genesis 3

Sin (doubt and unbelief) entered into Adam and Eve and they felt ashamed of what they had done (their sinfulness) and they hid from God. Genesis 3:8 says,

Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden.

Genesis 3 8

I thought about Heidi and how innocent she was when she was communicating with her granddaddy, saying Agoo! At these times she is totally safe in these face to face encounters.

Imagine someone coming into her life, or your life and saying, “Don’t trust him, there are things that are better for you than this, and if you experience it (or just take this bite), your life will be so much better?”

Once our innocence and trust is broken, doubt, unbelief and a host of other sinful thoughts begin to turn our joy into ungodly thoughts and eventually desires. It is difficult many times for us, like it was for Adam and Eve to understand WHY?

God does allow us and those we know and love to experience hurt, brokenness, and the effects of sin. It seems like we are unprotected.  But, God’s unconditional love for us and for mankind is always available and never negates His desire to be with us face to face.

God loves us so much He sent his son to restore a never ending life with Him. When we accept and follow His plan of redemption we are empowered to overcome sin and death in all of it’s ugly forms.

colt and kiss (1)

God’s intentions are always to restore us to this face-to-face position with him. He banished Adam and Eve from the garden, but continued to provide for them.

Also for Adam and his wife the Lord God made tunics of skin, and clothed them.
Genesis 3:21

Vest

I don’t find it any coincidence in the story of Anna the Prophetess that her father’s name was Phanuel which means face of God.

Luke 2:35 so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed—and a sword will pierce your soul as well.” 36There was also a prophetess named Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher, who was well along in years. She had been married for seven years, 37and then was a widow to the age of eighty-four. She never left the temple, but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying.…

Anna worshiped day and night in the temple and waited, for the day she had been promised to see the Jehovah’s face. After recognizing the baby she became one of the first Christian evangelists.
She was also standing in it at that hour and she gave thanks to THE LORD JEHOVAH and was speaking about him with everyone who was waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem. Luke 2:38
Because of the fall of man, God was not going to give up on mankind. So in an instant faster than we can even imagine, He devised the plan of redemption through the second Adam, Yahushua. The Hebrew Bible uses Yehoshua (יְהוֹשֻׁעַ) for Joshua, which means “Yah is Salvation.” Christians, historians, and linguists outside the sacred name movement for the most part reject the term Yahshua (יהשע) in favor of Yeshua (ישוע) as the original pronunciation.

And every priest stands ministering daily and
offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.
But this Man,
after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever,
sat down at the right hand of God,
from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool.
For by one offering
He has perfected forever those who are being [d]sanctified.

Hebrews 10:11-14

When we realize we have sinned and have been sinned against, we can regain our original position God gave Adam and Eve and all mankind through the plan of salvation and redemption God provided in and through Jesus.

hammock.JPG

Coming to Jesus as a little child puts us in the same position of innocence and complete humbleness that enables us to receive eternal life, and all of the benefits of becoming His child.

What God wants from us, is a face-to face encounter.  I hear the voice of God say,

“Stop struggling, It’s time for you to trust me, and let down the walls and those hidden places of sin that separate you and I from being totally “face to face”.”

Rain & Seal Guts

Seal Gut
Above is a picture of an actual seal gut raincoat that is on display at the Dorothy Page Museum located in the Mat-Su Valley of Alaska

One of the things that never ceases to amaze me is the resiliency of the Alaskan people and their ability to live off the land. What they do to protect themselves from God’s extreme weather in Alaska is truly amazing!

Above are other Alaskan artifacts Dorothy Page Museum located in Wasilla, Alaska in the Mat-Su valley. Hatcher’s Pass and the Independance Mine are also located in the valley. Seal furs, skins and even the guts (intestines) were used to make and provide clothing which would keep out the icy rain, snow and provide warmth in the very sub zero temperatures.

Slide

During my visit at the museum I was able to meet with Bethany Follett, the museum’s curator. She and I talked about several of the displays and the people who pioneered and settled this area as well as the native community. There are so many different cultures, nations and pioneering men and women who have built the community of Wasilla and the surrounding Mat-Su Valley.

Because of Alaska’s unique and extreme climate, it is important to maintain the principle of working long hours in the summer to prepare for the long and hard winters. One of those pioneer women is Northgate Church Discipleship Leader, Amberly Brejah. She and her husband built a play slide, inside their home, from their top to the bottom floor. This allows their children to play and get exercise during the long and harsh Alaskan winters. I thought this was amazing and so did Bethany! It is important for children to be able to laugh and play, especially in the Mat-Su Valley which has been designated as one of mostdifficult places in Alaska to raise a child.

Every Thursday evening, Northgate opens their church doors and has a worship, praise and prayer meeting. It is a sweet time of worship, intercessory prayer and declaring God’s Word over the Mat-Su Valley, State, nation and the world. Watch YouTube Video.

I believe God is helping men and women create “witty inventions” in this hour to reverse these statistics!  With Generation Z being labled as the “loneliest generation” it is important to share the good news radically!

I remember when my sons were growing up their baseball coach put in a pitching and batting cage in our backyard. In Tallahassee, Florida they were able to use this wonderful addition to our home year round just like Amberly’s children in the Mat-Su Valley!

DADDY, JESUS AND COFFEE

IMG_7191
Baggs Fruit & Produce 2017 Established 1955

Daddy, Jesus and Coffee – Happy Birthday Daddy!

Today May 5th – 2018

My dad would have been 96 today.  It seems like an eternity since I moved to help my younger brother Keith take care of him in 2006.

Baggs Fruit and Produce Market was his life. He and my mom established it July 4th weekend 1955 and it is still in operation. I once asked my dad if he ever minded going to work, (this was when he was 89)? He simply said, “I look forward to waking up every morning and having a place to go that is mine and that I love!” He truly loved the produce market and he loved to watch things grow. He could look at a baby sprout in the field with bad eyesight and tell you what the crop was. He was a great farmer, like his daddy ~12th generation.

It has been six years since his 90th birthday and his passing along. I still miss my daddy. I miss fixing him breakfast and listening to his comforting laugh and silly jokes and the way one eyebrow would raise when he was pulling my leg about something or telling a story that he knew was getting my undivided attention. This was how my daddy showed he cared, telling stories and getting the laughs. I loved the tall tales!  Now, my son Maverick and his son Jonah have this same trait.  The Lord is so good! Below is a story about a day with my dad. I call it Daddy, Jesus and Coffee.

This is a Repost from May 20, 2012

This morning (May 20, 2012) my daddy went to his heavenly home.
He is finally at peace, running, jumping and probably drinking coffee with Jesus! The last few years have been quite a struggle for him. He didn’t like being bedridden and he was tired of being sick and tired. The last time I prayed with him, he said he felt like a “zombie.”  My dad could describe his feelings in one word or one sentence matter of fact statements.  Usually the humor expressed subtly would hit you a few hours later, giving you a fresh appreciation of his wisdom. My daddy was one of the hardest workers I’ve ever known.  Over the past three years, he had gone from getting up early, going to work seven days a week 364 days a year (he always took off Christmas), to being barely able to get out of bed.

Only after extreme doses of chemo therapy and radiation, at the ripe old age of 87, he lost his strength. His mind remained “sharp as a tack” and like I said earlier, he always had a quick wit about him…even to the very end of his life here on earth.

One of his favorite sayings was, “I don’t care which way the wind blows as long as I get a little breeze.” His last birthday was May 6th and he was 90 years old, now he is in eternity. The Lord wants us to honor our parents so we can live a long life.  He honored his daddy who lived to be 96!

I was blessed to have had my daddy and the stories he shared with me over the years. I will miss him. Below is a story I wrote a few years ago, called The Coffee Cup.

96ca7-the2bcoffee2bcup

The Coffee Cup
Dear Seed Sower Deb,

You asked about my dad. This morning I’m home with him. His heart is getting weaker and weaker but he is still able to crack a joke. I always make coffee when he stays home and this morning I took him another cup. Usually I take him a small delicate cup, but this one was heavier. He needs the exercise!

Of course he lays down and drinks his coffee because he is weak. I poured him a refill and he said, “This is the height of laziness.” (He meant, laying in bed drinking coffee.)

He keeps asking me if his brain is ok? He’s worried about becoming demented. I assure him he’s still all there. This has been a serious learning experience being at home with my dad who is 87. I’ve learned a lot and I’ve been blessed to be loved alot.

He is always thankful for every little thing and rarely complains. One thing I’ve noticed is that he is able to discern whenever he is anxious about something. He knows and understands whether or not something is a matter that you should get upset about.

He says, “my nerves are bad, I get upset over something I shouldn’t get upset over.”

This reminded me of Phil 4:6 “Be careful (anxious)for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”

For those of you out there with older parents…appreciate their wisdom….and love their life….that all may go well with you and you will live a long life. For more about his produce market he started in 1955 check out
