Teacakes, Flowers & Jesus

Kneading dough

Arthritic fingers kneading dough,
melting chocolate,
Southern drawl… calling softly,
Laa..ry, Raa…bert
Flowers outside the window pane…
It’s Jesus, that makes them grow!”

She would say,
“It’s the little things that add up,
pile up and rust,
or wurst yet collect dust.
It’s the little things
that remind you, of hard times,
the hurts that wounded the inside,
that clattered, frazzled, and gathered
your nerves into bundles of hurdles.

It’s the little things that matter
as you grow older, wider and wiser.
You gather and collect it, forget it,
‘til one day you remember,
then pick it up, blow the dust off and
think about what made you glad,
things really weren’t that bad,
because of the love you had.

Southern drawl… calling softly,
Jesus…Jesus….
Flowers outside the window pane…
Jesus, take me home!”

Serving the love of Jesus, and helping others along the way…
from ashes to beauty…
