I remember when I was a kid being on Merry go round and every time I got to where my dad or mom were I’d wave at them saying “look at me’. Wanting so bad to be acknowledged.

Too often in our lives we are in the same place, wanting to be seen. Wanting to be acknowledged. Wanting to receive credit for what we are doing. Trapped in the constant circle of needing peoples approval, As if what we do doesn’t count unless it is seen by the ‘right people”, seen by the leaders. What a lie! What a horrible trap!

There is a shift, a correction right now in the body of Christ – from people approval, to God approval. From fulfilling duties that get us attention and admiration to doing the will of the Father when no one is looking or seeing.

There is a shift in the body of Christ – a correction from people being praised and acknowledged to Only God getting the glory.
The most dangerous place you can be is in a place where you take credit for what God has done. I call it – ‘touching the glory’.
Let’s be honest — without Him we can do NOTHING! or as us southerners say ‘ we can’t do diddly squat’ without Him. BUT really — what are we doing and why are we doing it?

I remember Steve Hill sharing how his great mentor – Leonard Ravenhill would tell him “Steve, when it’s all over, don’t be standing in a pile of ash”. The truth that Leonard Ravenhill was teaching came from 1 Cor. 3
13each man’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man’s work. 14If any man’s work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward. 15If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.

Ouch! So here is the truth — if what we do is done just to please man or give us fame and acknowledgment — it won’t count – it will be burned up —

Do you know that when you give a bottle of water to the homeless, you are doing the work of the Lord? Do you know that when you encourage your co-worker, you are doing the work of the Lord? Do you know that EVERY PRAYER you pray is saved up in heaven and that they are incense to the Lord. IT ALL COUNTS when it’s done for the Father.

‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them,
you did it to Me.’,
Jesus said – (speaking of giving but I think it counts for all of it) “don’t let you left hand know what your right hand is doing”

Matthew 25:40

There is freedom off the Merry Go Round! We are ALL called to do the work of our Father — not for human glory and honor but to the glory of God —

I have felt so strongly that there are many hidden servants who are behind the scenes. Their good deeds are never seen but by Their Father in Heaven and the person they minister to. Their encouraging words come from Holy Spirit to the hurting, the struggling and the discouraged. No one but God knows but it counts to Him.

God honors and adores the hidden servants. Those who live just for His glory. Those who He can use to touch the least of these!

1) Getting off the Merry Go Round – drawing close to the Father, trusting Him. He will help us love with His love.

2) There is a shift happening in the earth. We are in a place where God is radically moving things around, increasing the momentum and the need to draw nearer to Him.

3) Dead works will be burned up.
