The Traveling Quilt

While being deployed in Liberty County after Hurricane Michael I gave several quilts to disaster responders. One quilt (pictured below) was to my friend Heather, a mighty woman of God….

For those of you, who made, prayed and gave money to send me and these quilts out; I wanted to share how your giving has blessed others.

I received this text today… “This (picture) came up in my memory feed from 4 years ago. Was thinking. I’ve actually let two women take it with them and sleep with it over them. One was at CRI deployment in California. Not sure if I ever told you that.”

These “traveling quilts” and “mini-prayer shawls” are given to women who have been victims of Human Trafficking, Domestic Violence, and have encountered much: hopelessness, grief, crisis and trauma.

Many of the women who have made these precious gifts have they themselves endured much grief, trauma and loss. The Bible speaks of those who sew skillfully.

Exodus 28:3

You shall speak to all the skillful persons whom I have endowed with the spirit of wisdom, that they make Aaron’s garments to consecrate him, that he may minister as priest to Me.

The special thing about these quilts aside from being handmade with a lot of love, is the women who made them prayed (or had them prayed over) before releasing them to me.

These quilts have been literally sent around the world, the lower 48, China, Alaska, Africa, Peru and others.

Don’t ever doubt that God speaks and heals others from the simple things we do that touch others we don’t even know about.

I needed that reminder today of the beautiful men, women, and children who have made my life so blessed and helped me remember God is real, Jesus is real, Holy Spirit leads, guides and provides to those who world’s have been shaken by grief, wounds, crisis, trauma and disaster. Jesus is and forever will be our cornerstone. His word will remain forever.

When our world is shaken, always remember Jesus is our cornerstone.

Merry Christmas again to you and your precious families. I love you lots! The article below was written by the late David Wilkerson…..I hope this blesses someone whose world is shaking right now

While the Foundations Are Shaking

By David Wilkerson

While all the foundations of the world are shaking, Satan roars like a lion, and there is confusion, violence and uncertainty. Those who trust in the Lord, though, will see God’s salvation with hearts and minds at peace. They can enjoy rest and sweet sleep, unafraid of conditions around them.

I give you some glorious promises of God for all who trust in him in these perilous times.

“As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is proven; he is a shield to all who trust in him” (2 Samuel 22:31, NKJV).

“Show your marvelous lovingkindness by your right hand, O you who save those who trust in you from those who rise up against them” (Psalm 17:7).

“Oh, how great is your goodness, which you have laid up for those who fear you, which you have prepared for those who trust in you in the presence of the sons of men” (Psalm 31:19)!

“You shall hide them in the secret place of your presence from the plots of man; you shall keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues” (Psalm 31:20).

“Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the Lord” (Psalm 31:24).

“Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in him, and he shall bring it to pass” (Psalm 37:5).

“But the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; he is their strength in the time of trouble. And the Lord shall help them and deliver them; he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him” (Psalm 37:39-40).

“In God (I will praise His word), in God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me” (Psalm 56:4)?

“Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah” (Psalm 62:8).

“Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever” (Psalm 125:1).

“The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe” (Proverbs 29:25).

The only safeguard against Satan’s evil devices is to face him with the promises of God. God’s Word is still all-powerful, and the devil still trembles when we stand firm with this sword in hand. Today, now, take your stand.

You are valuable, You are loved, You are one of God’s Treasures. He will make beautiful things from the ashes in your life… He promises…..

Blessed is our Lord Most High,
Marlene

    1. Joanne,

If I have ever doubted, and you know I would be a liar to say I haven’t, I thank you for ALWAYS responding, encouraging, strengthening, and believing in the unbelievably blessed but difficult call on my life. I wish I could say there have not been these incredible moments when my faith has not been unshakeable but sorely, when it APPEARS AND FEELS shaken……if not for our blessed Holy Spirit and God’s Wonder working power through His wonderful intercessors and prayer warriors. It’s been a wild ride.. And we are still here pressing on through the thickets of adversity at times.

Yes, I need the Lord to call out by and through the thicket right now. Thank you for listening. Hearing and interceding for me, as I know you and Jesus is always there no matter what.
