Ain’t No Rock Gonna Cry Out for Me!

Over 30 years ago, on Palm Sunday, I was standing in praise and worship and the person standing beside me was getting very uncomfortable. At one point he raised their hands (something he never would have done in church). At one point, I almost thought he was making fun of the people who were raising their hands and singing out loudly.

Because of his increased edginess he was unable to sit down or stand still. I had seen this edginess before, and usually he would just go out of the service. But this time, just before the close of the last song, he hurriedly pushed me aside and told me to let him out. I thought he was getting ill or leaving. Instead of heading for the back door, he walked fast nearly running to the front of the church. He grabbed one of the men in the front row and asked for prayer.

When he returned, he told me he had asked Jesus into his heart because he had felt this intense feeling to just cry out and ask for forgiveness. This was Palm Sunday, over 30 years ago.

When God speaks to our spirits, there is an intense and overwhelming desire and need to respond to His beckoning. Palm Sundays ever since have been special for me. As in the case of Jesus and the Pharisees, once we respond, it is important to not let our desire, and our praise and worship for the LORD grow cold
The enemy of our souls wants “rocks of offence, obstacles, and obligations” to silence our praise.

Field Rocks

All we want and all we need
Is found in Jesus
All we ask is more of you
Nothing else can satisfy our hearts desire
All we want is more of you
For the Lord is good
And His love endures
Yes the Lord is good forever
And I’ll shout it out
From the mountain tops
Yes the Lord is good forever
We want you more and more
We want you more and more
We want you more and more
More and more

In 2018 there was a lava flow in Hawaii they said wasn’t stopping. The wind had blown an avalanche of rocks into the road.

I felt the LORD say, “The earth is crying out in travail, it is praising ME, a God that can’t be stopped!

God created mankind to praise and worship him. Let your soul and spirit cry out in travail, cry out in praise and overcome the darkness wherever you go – wherever your feet may tread.

God sent His Son, the Holy One of Israel, Yeshua (Jesus) to redeem mankind from their sins and from the evil one. He will deliver those who will follow Him from the darkness and into His marvelous light!

I believe the Spirit of God is saying, “You who are His voice, those of you who are His people and are His followers and disciples, go now into all the earth and declare His salvation, deliverance and healing to those who are lost and broken, and it is I who will deliver them. Don’t let a rock of offense, a mountain of diversity, a volcano of anger, a wind of change, or an earthquake of destruction cry out for you! Stay close in good times and in bad. Praise me in all things!”

Just as Jesus headed to Jericho with his disciples, He met Zaccheus the tax collector and told His disciples a parable about sowing and reaping. He emphasized the rewards for those who hold back; giving a charge to those servants to OCCUPY UNTIL I COME! We find this in Luke 19:13 NAS:

And he called ten of his own slaves and gave them ten minas, and said to them, ‘Do business with this money until I come back.

The Lord is my solid rock, my fortress, my rescuer. My God is my rock— I take refuge in him!
 he’s my shield, my salvation’s strength, my place of safety.

Psalm 18:2

And as He told the disciples where to get a Colt for him to ride on those who were following him began to cry out in praise.

“Saying, blessed be the King that comes in the name of the LORD: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.  Let the heaven and earth praise him, the seas, and everything that moves therein…

Psalm 85:9-12

And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.

And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.

And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,

Saying, if thou had not known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. Luke 19:38-42

Luke 19:38-42

May God’s people stand firm and OCCUPY in praise and worship until He comes again!

“We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.” Romans 8:22

Romans 8:22

Shout for joy in the Lord, O you righteous!
Praise befits the upright,
Give thanks to the Lord with the Lyre;
make melody to him with the harp of ten strings!
Sign to him a new song;
play skillfully on the strings with oud shouts

For the word of the Lord is upright
and all his work is done in faithfulness.
He loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord.

Psalm 33:1-5

When we praise and worship the Lord, we know that He is ever faithful to inhabit the praises of His people, and that He is ALWAYS making intercession for us and on behalf of the world He came to save.

As we enter this season of intercession, thanksgiving, and harvest I pray the LORD will show you the width and depth of His wonderous love!

You are one of God’s Treasures!
