In Numbers 24 verses 1 through 4 there is a story about a prophet named Balaam and his donkey:
NOW WHEN Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to bless Israel, he did not resort to divination as at other times but turned his face toward the wilderness. When Balaam looked out and saw Israel encamped tribe by tribe, the Spirit of God came on him and he spoke his message:
“The prophecy of Balaam son of Beor, the prophecy of one whose eye sees clearly, the prophecy of one who hears the words of God, who sees a vision from the Almighty, who falls prostrate, and whose eyes are opened:
I just love the portion “when he saw that it pleased the Lord to bless Israel.”
NOW WHEN we choose to bless others, even if it means: turning our face against the popular crowd, or causing us to enter into a wilderness journey, or perhaps other hardships; we can rest assured that God’s Spirit will fall upon us when we refuse to resort to consorting with the ways that aren’t pleasing to God. We can rest assured when we please God, our eyes will be opened to the deception of others, or even our own sins, and we are humble before God, that His blessing and favor cannot help but come upon us.
NOW THEN God’s Word says, that Balaam was given clarity of vision, had supernatural hearing, saw visions from the Almighty, and that his eyes were opened when he fell humbly before the Lord.
NOW THEN these words were written (to us) about the King of Kings who quietly & sacrificially gave Himself for our sins. He gives us freely an eternal inheritance and an earthly influence.
“Scripture said to Daughter Zion,
Matthew 21:5-7
(NOW WHEN) you ‘See, your king comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, and on a colt, the foal of a donkey.'” The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. They brought the donkey and the colt and placed their cloaks on them for Jesus to sit on. This is found in
We see some important points to remember:
- The opposite of a blessing from God is a curse on our life.
- A curse gives power or sorcery, and this is witchcraft or dabbling in the occult. This equals idolatry.
- Idolatry is anything that takes 1st place in your heart over God.
- The number one and most important commandment for anyone who claims to trust God is to love Him foremost, with all our hearts, souls and minds.
Now Then God will bless those who are faithful following His first command.
“How beautiful are your tents, Jacob, your dwelling places, Israel! “Like valleys they spread out, like gardens beside a river, like aloes planted by the LORD, like cedars beside the waters. Water will flow from their buckets; their seed will have abundant water.
“Their king will be greater than Agag; their kingdom will be exalted. “God brought them out of Egypt; they have the strength of a wild ox. They devour hostile nations and break their bones in pieces; with their arrows they pierce them. Like a lion they crouch and lie down, like a lioness-who dares to rouse them? “May those who bless you be blessed and those who curse you be cursed!” We find this important message God gave to Jacob in Numbers 24 verses 5 through 9.

Zechariah 9 paints a beautiful picture of Jesus, our Savior riding humbly into Jerusalem on a Colt. It says,
Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
NOW WHEN difficult times approach us, our loved ones, our nations, even our world; just remember God himself came in and took authority over every sin, pestilence, & enemy that refuses to bow their knee to Him.
Now When crisis, disaster, disease approach you… Remember Matthew Chapter 21 verses 10 through 11.
NOW WHEN He had come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, “Who is this?”
So, the multitudes said, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee.”
We read a promise given about Jesus and a time when He will return riding into Jerusalem, not on a Colt but in a time when His Word’s will be fulfilled, and evil will be conquered once and forever. John writes in Revelation chapter 19 verse 11:
I saw heaven open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice He judges and makes war. And His name is the Word of God.
Now Then, Remember the LORD Jesus is Faithful & True
The book of Numbers tells us in Chapter 24 verses 14 through 17 that a blessing will come and appear over those who remain faithful and true. We can only remain faithful and true to God, through Jesus. When we accept and love Jesus, His Spirit reigns over us. We become the vessels of honor that He can operate through to help others come to know Him, be delivered and healed by Him, and under His reigns.
Then the Lord will appear over them.
his arrow will flash like lightning.
The Sovereign Lord will sound the trumpet.
he will march in the storms of the south,
and the Lord Almighty will shield them.
They will destroy
and overcome with slingstones.
They will drink and roar as with wine.
they will be full like a bowl
used for sprinkling the corners of the altar.
The Lord their God will save his people on that day
as a shepherd saves his flock.
They will sparkle in his land
like jewels in a crown.
How attractive and beautiful they will be!
Grain will make the young men thrive,
and new wine the young women.
When God confronts idolatry, sin and injustice, there is no one on earth that can change the outcome. He is patient and longsuffering and gives us opportunities to make choices, and to repent. He disciplines those He loves. We see an example of God’s judgement when Jesus approaches the place where people were to seek refuge in prayer, worship and thanksgiving and evil men had turned it into a place of profiting themselves.
Jesus entered the Jewish Temple and drove out the money changers. He was appalled at what they were doing, and He put an end to it. Afterwards he and his disciples go for an evening of rest.
Please read Matthew 21
Jesus and His followers rested after this event. We must remember they were in a time of Passover week. This was a holy time, and it was meant to be a time of remembering God and what He had done in the past for His people. He was entering into a time just before He would give Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world and reverse the curse upon mankind and the earth.
NOW THEN the next day Jesus walks by the fig tree that He had cursed. There were no figs on it. The disciples were amazed the tree had withered and died. “Even during times of isolation, Jesus wants us to be fruitful even if it is only in prayer.”
NOW WHEN Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”
Matthew 21 verse 22 tells us to be confident in our prayers.
NOW WHEN we go humbly before our Father in heaven in prayer and intercession,
NOW THEN let us ask Him to give us the names of those to pray for and bless.
Thank You for Your Prayers & Support
Let us enter this season in intercession and thanksgiving, for not only what God has done, but what He promises He will continue to do now and forever.
I pray the LORD will show you the width and depth of His wonderous love!
You are one of God’s Treasures!
