Today this young woman stopped by to say goodbye. She will be a sophomore returning to boarding school. Boarding school is very prevalent in Kenya and offers a good education, safety, security, and discipline for both young men and women. Esther has been at Challenge Farm in Kitale, Kenya for several years. After being at school a month the pandemic hit and fortunately she was able to return to the safety of Challenge Farm. Now she is looking forward to returning.
Some of Esther’s New Year goals are: to improve her English speaking, writing and translation skills, to take Bible classes, and learn more about missions. I pray and believe she will do very well at the Christian boarding school for girls. After graduation she would like to go to Bible college and become a missionary in India. Perhaps she will even work in a children’s home like the one she has come to know and love here in Kenya.
Today this cutie came into my bedroom, (the last day of 2020) and instead of a crown he was growling as a wolf. Jonah loves the outdoors, animals, insects, sticks, and dinosaurs. He is so thoughtful of others, and has an appetite for learning! His mom Amy is homeschooling him and his brother Hudson. I’m learning a lot as well!
As 2020 ends and 2021 begins, it is impossible to not realize how blessed I am. I’m so proud of what the LORD is doing in and through my son and his family. Whenever I begin to feel discouraged or overwhelmed, the Lord is quick to remind me, He is the one who is always able to help me face my fears, draw me near to Him, or help me correct my mistakes.
Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.Ephesians 3:20-21
As I was writing this New Year’s Eve blog I received a new follower. A young German woman whose blogsite is called King’s Daughter began following me. As I opened her blog, I realized she was from Germany as it was totally written in German. As I translated her biography I found a kindred spirit!
Again and again I type and delete. I’m not very good at saying anything about myself. I will try again without using the delete key.Blogger Kings Daughter
I am a sinner loved and pardoned by God. By grace I may be a co-heir of Christ (Ephesians 1: 13-14). Out of gratitude to my Creator and Savior, and my joy in writing, I do not want to keep my path, my insights and encouragement to myself, but rather share it with you. I would like to use my blog to bear testimony about the work of God in my life and show what life brings with it as a follower.
I have another friend, teacher, intercessor and “thinker” like me. Recently we were conversing and I shared a quote I had read commenting on the parable of the sower. I hope it blesses you for the New Year! You are one of God’s Treasures…
We often think this only applies to the Word of the Gospel as formally preached on Sundays. But every expression of the will of God is in some “sense” a “word” of God and therefore a “seed” of new life. The ever changing reality in the midst of which we live should awaken us to the possibility of an uninterrupted dialogue with God.Thomas Merton
We must learn to realize that the love of God seeks us in every situation and seeks our good.
Happy New Year!
BLESSED IS OUR LORD MOST HIGH!

And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6
