Let Me Be Me

“Vocation does not come from willfulness. It comes from listening. I must listen to my life and try to understand what it is truly about-quite apart from what I would like it to be about-or my life will never represent anything real in the world, no matter how earnest my intentions…..Before I can tell my life what I want to do with it, I must listen to my life telling me who I am. I must listen for the truths and values at the heart of my own identity, not the standards by which I must live-but the standards by which I cannot help but live if I am living my own life.”

Parker J. Palmer

We are all sinners waiting for the right time to yield ourselves to God. Some yield faster than others. I’m praying just let me be me…

When I feel alone and rejected it is ok. God knows and will direct my path if I am living my own life. If I am not, then the person I am trying to please will become my master and I will follow them instead of relying on the Lord.

But, if I trust in the LORD He will direct my path.

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body

and knit me together in my mother’s womb.

14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!

Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.

15 You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,

as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.

16 You saw me before I was born.

Every day of my life was recorded in your book.

Every moment was laid out

before a single day had passed.

Psalm 139:13-16 NLT

We all appear innocent at first, but the truth is we are all sinners and we need the salvation, deliverance and healing of Jesus. Give God the glory, and He will lift you up and protect you.

To God be the Glory,
