Run, forest run! Relax and enjoy this very special video.
My son(s) and daughter(s), if sinners entice thee,
consent thou not.
If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause: Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:
Sometimes we are enticed to follow the wrong crowd, or hear the leading of God’s voice because of the situations we choose to put ourselves in. Maybe the crowd looks good, sounds good or even gives the impression that their cause is good. In fact, you can see “good fruit” or profitable results and success come from some of the works that are being done. We must be careful not to be deceived.
If we partake in something and it is contrary to what God is saying, we are in danger of being deceived. Remember the saying, “a little leaven will cause the whole loaf to rise” meaning it only takes a little lie to become a big sin.
Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.
Jesus
Proverbs cautions us from the very beginning of this book that knowledge without wisdom is deadly. I’ve learned too many times it is very easy to be deceived, by what looks and sounds good. By seeking the LORD and His wisdom we can rest assured that He will protect, provide and care for us and help us navigate in this world filled with knowledge and deception.
God’s plans are always for our good and not for evil. But, it is important that evil workers are among us and sometimes they are even cloaked in something that looks, feels and even speaks “Christian.” If it contains an element of dishonesty, meaning “man’s law or truth” rather than what God truly has said, it is still a lie, and is definitely harmful to be consumed.
Before COVID 19, the protests, the riots, political unrest, and millions of people losing their livelihoods, we were already flooded with messages, reports, truths and lies through every means possible. Hours and hours of gigabytes and terabytes of information is coming at us in a way that we can’t possibly process intelligently. I often find myself in this “net” and powerless to escape it, except for the mercy and grace of the LORD. These traps are laid before us all. We are helpless without the help of God. Reading and studying God’s Word, praying in the Holy Spirit, and building our personal relationship with Him is so very important. When we spend time with Him, then He can empower, encourage and enable us to leap over tall buildings, endure hardships, and fortify others through His loving strength and power.
In Psalm 18: 33 David says, “he makes my feet like hinds feet, and sets me upon my high places”. God orders the steps of a righteous man, thus we are to trust him, that he will set and lead us to our high places of refreshing, a place where we are dwelling in him as a way of life.
For His glory,
Marlene
