Do you have a wise mouth?

“I eat wide mouthed frogs”, said the big nosed aligator!

Are we sharing our faith with wisdom? Do we know what we believe?

In Luke 21 Jesus tells us how we should share our faith;

10 Then he said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. 11 There will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences. And there will be terrors and great signs from heaven. 12 But before all this they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors for my name’s sake. 13 This will be your opportunity to bear witness. 14 Settle it therefore in your minds not to meditate beforehand how to answer, 15 for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict. 16 You will be delivered up even by parents and brothers[c] and relatives and friends, and some of you they will put to death. 17 You will be hated by all for my name’s sake. 18 But not a hair of your head will perish. 19 By your endurance you will gain your lives.

Growing up my dad used to say to me, “Marlene, your tongue is loose on both ends.”  Many times I spoke foolishly. I agree I talked too much. I still do at times.

Godlessness in the Last Days
3 But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, 4 treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5) having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. 6 For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, 7 always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth. 8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men corrupted in mind and disqualified regarding the faith. 9 But they will not get very far, for their folly will be plain to all, as was that of those two men.

I didn’t get saved, delivered and healed until I had a “real life encounter” with the “real life savior, healer, and deliverer!

I believe Christians, especially in America who are in the midst of a battle are the ones Jesus is crying out to. Jesus is saying in Luke to be prepared to speak up and be wise about what they say. This is not an earthly wisdom, but this comes with understanding and knowing our heavenly Father.  He will give us the wisdom and divine wisdom to help others in their time of need. This is a way we can have a truly wise mouth.

With all the recent events in the world, earthquakes, famines, war, shootings, disputes and factions it is not hard to see that we are certainly living in perilous times.  My  mouth often got me in trouble growing up. In this passage of scripture Jesus is telling His disciples that He will give them wisdom and a mouth. He is also saying, “Decide beforehand how you stand on the trouble that will surely come. If we are willing and obedient there will be times we will be given an opportunity to speak up just like Daniel was given the opportunity to speak up and be a witness to the ungodly.

And He is changing times and seasons, He is causing kings to pass away, and He is raising up kings; He is giving wisdom to the wise, and knowledge to those possessing understanding. Daniel 2:21

Below are some suggestions on how to grow in our faith and develop Godly wisdom:

Genesis 3D

1) Encourage yourself in the Lord and know what is the truth according to scripture about God’s plan for your life and others.  A great movie one of the first of its’ kind is coming out and will be a great way to share God’s plan for the world. Take a friend and go see the Genesis 3D  Paradise movie which is coming out this November! Encourage youth and college students to go see this as well as your younger children.

2) Study  God’s Word daily, and spend time with Him in prayer.  This is an act of worship!

3) Stay in fellowship with loving people who want to grow in wisdom also! Jesus warns us about hanging out with certain types of individuals …having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.

Walk worthy in the vocation and calling He has called you to.
