Chasing Maverick
From the first moment Maverick began kicking in my womb, I knew he would be different. He was full of life, excitement and joy! Today he carries that joy with him wherever he goes. Sometimes his excitement and joy would overflow… so strong that he almost couldn’t contain himself. God’s hand has always been upon Maverick as long as I can remember.
When he was four years old his oldest brother Gary led him in prayer to receive Christ as his Savior and when he has around six he was baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit. He has always been a man that carries God’s presence with him wherever he goes. His walk with the Lord has been one that truly mirrors his love relationship with JESUS and he shares Christ with whomever he meets. As an intercessor and warrior he lives out his name… Maverick. The name Maverick originated in America by a rancher who refused to brand his cattle in the same way others did. Maverick has always been independent and a non-conformist in the sense that he refuses to be led of the world but has chosen to be led by the Spirit of the Lord.
Maverick loves God and loves to serve others and now with great joy and excitement God has brought a mighty woman of God into his life. She is a woman whom he loves dearly (and I believed ordained by God), Amy Farrington. Her name means beloved gift from God. She is exactly that! She is not only beautiful but she is also intelligent, kind, very intricate and very strong in the Lord. She is a jewel and precious gift from God. There are so many facets of her that are unending and wonderful to discover. God’s Spirit is in her and she has God’s joy and a peace also. She radiates a depth of love that is so precious and she is a true pearl with great wisdom. A Proverbs 31 woman for certain!
My job of chasing Maverick is almost over as I pass the baton to Amy. It sounds strange, but this is what every good mother of a son prays for. To have a daughter-in-love that truly loves God and adores your son as much and more than you do. Philippians 4 13 says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” I can let go of this most precious son and grab hold of the beautiful couple that God has brought together for such a time as this! May the Lord bless you both – Maverick and Amy with love, long life, good health! “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19.
I love you both and pray for His best… forever in your lives
For His Kingdom,
